Nancy Drew Books: Scary Things Kids (& Adults) Do #16

Master Crafter or Master Destroyer of DJs?

WOW. I saw these books listed at eBay today and about fell over! HA! Can you believe some little crafter decided to not only cut up their dust jackets but paste them on their books!? Super Crazy or Super Genius?! You be the judge! I say--Hypers!

When I was a kid I would have thought nothing of doing that with the dust jacket. When my daughter was little I took off and threw out some of her First Little House Books dust jackets because they are a pain for kids and the same illustrations were on the jackets. I would think twice now, but if you own the book, you might as well do what you want with it, besides, it makes the remaining ones all that more valuable!

Oh, that just makes me cringe!

I'm grateful my son would never do something like that to a book, and I hope no adult would either.

I actually have to go with super genius on this one! Of the 100+ series books I inherited from my grandmother and mom/aunts, only a few Honey Bunch books actually have the dust jackets. My mom mentioned that when they got ratty, they were simply discarded without a second thought.
This child seems smart enough to have preserved the illustrations in a more durable format.
