In March, I visited Indianapolis on a research trip for my Mildred Wirt Benson biography and to attend the PCA conference. Several Sleuths and I visited a neat "brewk" store - Books & Brews - featuring brews based on literary characters - of course they had a Nancy "Brew!" Described as a citra-hopped pale ale, it lives up to its name. We of course had to get glasses and tees and cans for our collections. Happy Birthday to Carolyn Keene - Mildred Wirt Benson - Original Nancy Drew Ghostwriter

Born on July 10, 1905 in Ladora, IA, Mildred Augustine (later Mildred A. Wirt and Mildred Wirt Benson via two marriages), would grow up to be the first Carolyn Keene and breathe life into what would become a very popular and inspiring character, Nancy Drew.
