I just received my latest book ad that I purchased at eBay--it's a 1941 Montgomery Wards catalog page which features the Nancy Drew book, The Mystery at the Moss-Covered Mansion, and lists some of the other volumes available. What I enjoyed about this ad, is that it stated, "Now in the Movies." In reference of course, to the 1938 and 1939 Warner Brothers Nancy Drew movies. I found it interesting that they mentioned the movies in the ad in 1941, and wonder if they were still showing them in some theaters, perhaps as fillers before a main movie, at this time?

Oooh, I probably would have spent any extra ca$h I'd had in 1941 for one...problem is, I wouldn't have had any. But I do love old, hand-drawn Sears and MW catalogs. Just not the same as today's circulars! I just started a 'Nancy Drew' blog, River Heights Fangirl...
