Nancy Drew New Classic Covers Giveaway

Nancy Drew Classics Get a New Look

In an update to my earlier Blog on the new Nancy Drew classic covers, I wanted to preview the covers and back covers of these new books plus post a Q' & A' with Penguin/Grosset & Dunlap on the new covers and what's in store in the future plus a giveaway! They are now available everywhere in addition to Target who has had them for several months in a special promotion.

GIVEAWAY DETAILS: Comment on which cover is your favorite and why--leave your name in the comment, and we'll do a drawing on May 29 to give away a set of 4 of these--1 of each. Please Note: Comments require approval due to spammers, so don't re-post if it doesn't show up right away--your comment will be approved as soon as I see it.

UPDATE: WINNER IS LEA! Thanks to everyone who commented! Let's hope they try out a few more of these neat covers in the future.

G&D Q' & A'

Q' 1: What led Penguin to do a redesign of the classic Nancy Drew covers?

Although the editions with the 1950-70s covers  are iconic and sell incredibly well, we decided to create new editions that had cover art that harked back to the era in which the books were originally written. And we’re hoping these new editions bring a new audience to Nancy Drew.

Q' 2: Will Penguin be doing any more redesigned covers for books #5 onward?

We certainly hope so!

Q' 3: What has been the response Penguin has received on the style of the new covers?

Retailers and readers have responded incredibly well to the new covers; people have remarked on how stylish and beautiful they are, and how collectible they make the books feel.

Q' 4: Will Penguin be doing anything for the upcoming 85th anniversary of Nancy Drew?

We will be making a big splash for the 100th Anniversary!

(They have no big plans before the 100th, but stay tuned here for any possible future projects that might come up.)

Q' 5: Will there be a similar redesign for the Hardy Boys classic covers?

We’re considering it.  So  stay tuned!

Nancy Drew & Her Biggest Case Ever

Nancy Drew Play by First Stage

Nancy Drew & Her Biggest Case Ever opened this weekend in Milwaukee, WI from First Stage.  Jeff Frank and John Maclay have created a fabulous adventure Nancy Drew-style! They've combined elements from these classic Nancy Drew books: The Bungalow Mystery, The Quest of the Missing Map, and The Mystery at the Ski Jump

The play runs through June 1, so there's plenty of time to go see it if you're in the area. John Maclay will be presenting at our Nancy Drew Convention in San Diego this year on June 6.

If you're able to go see it, please post your thoughts in the comments!
