My Nana is an absolute sweetheart and will pick up some very, very, very tattered Nancy Drews at yard sales back home, and send them to me. They often look rather similar to that.
Alas, when I replace very damaged volumes with ones in excellent condition, the damaged volumes go to the free book swap at the library. I wouldn't even try to resell them. I'd rather some pre-teen girl just discovering the joy of collecting pick them up and bring them home.
